Nature at the Villa, Part 3: Rain

This past Tuesday, after teaching my morning classes at UofL, I visited my dad's house briefly before heading back to Lexington.  It had been raining off and on since mid-morning, and I decided to take some photos of the same plants and fungi I've posted previously, but this time focusing on water more than leaves and berries.

Laurel Ridge and Original Trail at Natural Bridge

To complete our afternoon at Natural Bridge State Park (see previous two posts about the Balanced Rock Trail and the bridge itself), we hiked part of Laurel Ridge Trail past the Skylift to Lookout Point, returned to Natural Bridge, and then descended via the Original Trail.

There were beautiful sights along both Laurel Ridge and the Original, with the view from Lookout Point back toward Natural Bridge being an obvious highlight.  But the most enjoyable part of the day, for me, was definitely our initial uphill hike via the Balanced Rock Trail.  I can't recommend that one highly enough.

A couple notes here...like the other posts, these are (mostly) sequenced in the same order in which they were taken.  Light started getting low on our way down, offering fewer photographic opportunities on the Original Trail.  In addition, my Nikon's battery finally died about 2/3 of the way down.  All of these were edited using the VSCO Cam app.
